Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — The Boys in Blue of the Iseulaolemoana III will be representing Fagatogo at tomorrow's Flag Day fautasi race, set to start at 11 a.m.

The hope is to bring home the ‘Mua’. Fautasi Five 2019 is proudly presented by Congresswoman Aumua Amata.

Captain Taesaliali’i Lefiti said they are focused on one thing only: “We have no other focus but to win -nothing more, nothing less. We’re just praying for strength from our Heavenly Father.”

He said the Iseulaolemoana III crew is fully prepared for this year's ‘Faigamea i le Tai’.

“We are ready, our only hope is that the weather will cooperate and everything will go safely and accordingly during Race Day.”

The Fagatogo crew started training in February. “We started off with conditioning, like running and uphill training to get our auva’a back in shape. We picked up the pace around March with some high intensity training just to get the boys fit for action."

The level of training is the biggest change for Fagatogo this year, according to Lefiti. "Our training has been bold and hard. As each day passes, our training gets harder and harder, to push these boys past their limits.”

Lefiti's advice to the Flag Day Fautasi Committee: “Please take the race out to the original starting point. We don’t want the race to start from within the harbor. Take the starting point out to sea so we can see the real strength of each crew."

He concluded “We would like to send our biggest 'fa’afetai tele' to Fagatogo village, as well as the ministers for their prayers, especially to the sons and daughters of our village who are off-island. Our most sincerest gratitude and appreciation to our families and friends who have been supporting and praying for us each and every day."
