Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — A female Customs agent is in custody at the Territorial Correctional Facility (TCF) on suspicion that she played a key role in the attempted delivery of a package alleged to contain over a pound of meth at the Post Office this past Tuesday.

Samoa News has been able to confirm that all the information and evidence collected that day have been submitted to the DPS Vice and Narcotics Unit, and that Customs officials Keith Gebauer and Juliano Falaniko have also been kept in the loop.

A source at the TCF confirmed yesterday morning that the female Customs agent is in custody and if charges aren't filed — when the 48-hour hold period expires — she will be released.

Samoa News understands that there are suspicions that the female suspect did not act alone, although she is the one who allegedly claimed the package and attempted to conceal it.

(Samoa News is withholding the name of the female Customs agent until criminal charges are filed and the case is heard in court).
