Fathers honored on their day at church services and family gatherings
Fathers of the Ave o le Fetuao Methodist Church at Fagaima performing on stage today at their church for Father’s Day Sunday service. Similar events were held at other church denominations throughout American Samoa with today’s Sunday service paying tribute to all fathers, as well as those who play the role of fathers in their family, church and communities, in American Samoa.
In his Father’s Day message on behalf of Gov. Lolo Matalasi Moliga, Lt. Gov. Lemanu Palepoi Sialega Mauga, who is also the acting governor, says fathers are committed to providing unconditional love and support for their families.
“We honor fathers who teach their children right from wrong and how to be self-sufficient,” Lemanu said in a message released last Friday. “We praise fathers who push their children to be the best they can.”
“We remember fathers who have passed on and have left their treasured lessons of life and love,” he said. “While no father is perfect we are grateful this day for all our fathers who strive to be the best they can at this most important calling.”
Lolo is currently in the US for meetings and returns the end of this month.
