Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — A man from Faleniu who used his DJ system (speaker & mic) to shout profanities at his aunt and her husband was arrested this week.

Around 9:00 a.m on Oct. 23, 2018, the Tafuna Substation received a call from a woman in Faleniu, asking for assistance in resolving a matter between her and her niece. The niece is defendant Herbert Schuster’s sister.

The defendant’s sister cut the tree that their aunty had already attached a rope to, for laundry purposes. When police officers arrived at the scene, Schuster’s aunt  said it was a minor dispute that they could've resolved themselves.

Three hours later, around noon that same day, the aunt called the Tafuna Substation again; this time, she asked for assistance regarding her nephew, Herbert, who was allegedly yelling profanities and disrespecting her and her husband.

The aunt told police that she called Schuster to come to her house so they could resolve the matter between her, Schuster and his sister. However, he refused and was yelling bad words at her and her husband.

The aunt said she told Schuster that she was going to call the cops but that only angered him, and she felt threatened.

When cops arrived they observed Schuster sitting behind his aunt’s house with a  microphone in hand.

He was utilizing his DJ system (speakers & mic) to shout profanities at her and the neighbors, and he was loud enough for the villagers to hear.

Schuster appeared in District Court this past week for his initial appearance, where Judge Fiti Sunia established bond at $500.

Schuster is ordered to keep the peace at his residence and not to have any contact with his aunt and her husband.

He is scheduled to appear in court next month for his pretrial conference.
