Bluesky Technical staff members have successfully completed safety and rescue training, and are now certified in Telecommunications Tower climbing safety, Fall protection and rescue operations.  The program evaluates current procedures and provides onsite climbing, rigging, rescue and administrative training to ensure that Bluesky stays up to date with industry standards and safety regulations.

Bluesky technicians frequently climb towers to service and maintain telecommunications systems that provide mobile services to the Territory, and Bluesky is dedicated to ensuring the safety of its employees.

“Employee safety is our number one priority,” says Bluesky's Acting Director of Technical Operations Stuart Fong, "and we are here to make sure that our teams are compliant, careful and confident while they are working at heights."

This is one of several efforts that Bluesky has undertaken to ensure that it’s professionals are equipped with the knowledge, skills and equipment to effectively provide the best communication services to the community.

The week-long training was conducted by Steve Fleming, founder of Technical Rescue Systems, which is an international training company that certifies professionals in safety and rescue techniques that are compliant with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), American National Standards Institute (ANSI), National Association of Tower Erectors (NATE), and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA).

Technical employees at Bluesky have completed training and are now Tower Climber-Rescuer certified.
