ASTCA Board appoints Fala Sualevai as acting CEO

Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — ASTCA Board Chairman Fai'ivae Iuli  Alex Godinet called  a special  ASTCA Board meeting this past Saturday to select an acting CEO after the sudden passing of  former CEO, Talking  Chief  Puleleiite Li'amatua Tufele, Jr.

The Board  unanimously agreed  to appoint Ms. Fala Sualevai as the  Acting  CEO until  a permanent CEO is selected. The Board  believes  that  Fala has  been  working closely  as part  of the management  team with the former CEO.  With this, she is able to face the challenging telecommunication, operational, finance  issues, various critical  projects,  and  partners and  vendors in order to elevate and  improve the services of ASTCA for the community.

Fala has over a decade of experience in Senior Finance role in the Utilities  and  Telecommunications sectors  in American Samoa. She has managed  all aspects of Finance operations including Financial Reporting, Financial  Controls, Collections, a nd Revenue Assurance. A strong team builder, Fala has a track  record of building a  strong Finance organization through leadership, mentorship, and her unwavering work ethic.  She is passionate in driving the organization to succeed and is thorough in her role in motivating her team to ensure they deliver service at its highest level.

The Board will be calling a meeting with the managers and the entire workforce in the next few days. However, the focus of the Board is to continue to support and empower all the employees to ensure that ASTCA continues to deliver exceptional service to our  people  and  maintain the goal of completing projects at hand. Chairman Fai'ivae Iuli Alex Godinet  concluded.

Opening the meeting with words of comfort and encouragement, Chairman Faiivae said, "There are significant events that occur in its own  unique timing and  in the history of our Territory's development, but  there  is also God's timing  and  plan  that  we  cannot control or forecast. We all need to honor our former CEO by staying focused in completing all the projects that were dear to his heart; serving our  people." The Chairman also acknowledged the fact that all the managers and their respective divisions are  familiar with  their  duties and   responsibilities, including  their  daily operation and schedule of delivering services and completing various projects.
