Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — Empty shelves at grocery stores have been restocked in American Samoa with the arrival of the first container ship in a month.
Over the weekend containers were hurriedly taken to stores from the ship the The Polynesia.
The supply shortage was caused by problems last month with another vessel carrying supplies which never arrived.
Its cargo was reloaded on to The Polynesia for its voyage to Pago Pago.
The delay led to many items running out including vegetables, fruit, milk, soft drinks, paper and building materials.
