NEW MEMBER APPOINTED TO ZONING BOARD

Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — Governor Pulaali’i Nikolao Pula has appointed Fofoga Sagato-Pila to fill the vacant position of the Zoning Board — completing the nine (9) required members of this board. Her term will expire on March 20, 2028.

According to the memorandum, Mrs. Sagato-Pila  is from Aua and “is a dedicated and community-oriented administration professional with extensive experience in government operations, village leadership, coalition program management, public safety and office administration.” She is a former pulenu’u and leoleo of her village.”

LOCAL STUDENTS NAMED TO DEAN'S LIST AT UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND GLOBAL CAMPUS

ADELPHI, MD — June 16, 2026 — More than 20,000 University of Maryland Global Campus students were named to the Dean's List for the spring 2026 term.

To be eligible for the honor, a student must complete at least six credits during the term, earn a grade point average of at least 3.5 for the term, and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.5 at UMGC.

The following students from American Samoa made the Dean’s List: Fetoiai Lauofo and  Faiane Saelua.

University of Maryland Global Campus was founded more than 75 years ago specifically to serve the higher education needs of working adults and military service members.

LOCAL UTAH TECH UNIVERSITY STUDENT EARNS PRESIDENT'S LIST HONORS

ST. GEORGE, UT — June 16, 2026 — Students at Utah Tech University demonstrated remarkable academic expertise in the spring 2026 semester, with 869 students earning President's List honors. To qualify, students had to attain a semester GPA of 3.9 or higher and complete at least 15 credits.

Kristina Timoteo from American Samoa was among the students honored for earning a place on the President's List.

"I offer my sincere congratulations to all the students who have earned a place on the President's List," Interim Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs Dr. Chris Guymon said. "It is deeply rewarding to see our students making the most of their opportunities and achieving such meaningful academic success."

Utah Tech University is a premier open-enrollment teaching institution that offers more than 300 academic programs at one of the lowest tuition costs in the Western United States.

To qualify, students had to achieve a semester GPA of 3.5 to 3.89 as well as complete at least 15 credits.

"I offer my sincere congratulations to all the students who have earned a place on the dean's list," Interim Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs Dr. Chris Guymon said. "It is deeply rewarding to see our students making the most of their opportunities and achieving such meaningful academic success."
