Washington, DC – Thursday, Feb. 7, 2019 - Congresswoman Aumua Amata announced she has been named Vice Ranking Member of the full Veterans’ Affairs Committee for the 116th Congress. This is in addition to an earlier announcement of the same Vice Ranking Member position for the Small Business Committee.

“I am thrilled to have Congresswoman Radewagen serve as the Vice Ranking Member of the Committee,” said Ranking Member Dr. Phil Roe (R-TN). “She has been with the Committee longer than most and has remained a steadfast advocate for veterans. She has a strong passion for veterans’ issues and has always brought joy and strength to the committee. I know that she will be a great leader and role model for all members.”

Vice Ranking Member Amata will also serve on two subcommittees: The Veterans Health Subcommittee, her top subcommittee selection on behalf of American Samoa’s veterans, and the Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations.

“I’m so pleased to continue our work on behalf of our veterans here in American Samoa, and wherever they live, now as Vice Ranking Member,” said Rep. Aumua Amata. “I greatly appreciate this Committee’s commitment to honor our veterans, and the efforts that are underway to continue reforming the VA and improving services. I’d especially like to thank Ranking Member Roe for this opportunity, and more importantly, for his leadership and his track record of dedication to veterans.”
