Alega, AMERICAN SAMOA — The 15th Annual Tisa’s Tattoo Fest — Oct. 25- 27 — is just around the corner. The theme this year is: “SAVE the Traditional Arts of American Samoa”.

And it will focus on traditional tatau, stone tool making, siapo art, and all things local and sustainable in the arts and agriculture in partnership with the Alega Preservation Institute’s “Food Security 4 U” initiative, according to Tisa Faamuli, owner of Tisa’s Barefoot Beach venue, who founded the festival 25 years ago.

Tisa’s 14th Annual Tattoo Fest last year did not disappoint, especially with Master Tufuga Su’a Wilson Fitiao, seen in this Samoa News file photo with his wife, artist Reggie Meredith Fitiao helping him, creating tattoos using the traditional “‘au”.

Expect a great celebration of our traditional arts again this year!
