Le Penina Golf Course club house opens

The $2 million Le Penina Golf Course Club House has officially opened at Mulifanua. Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Tuilaepa Sa’ilele Malielegaoi cut the ribbon and delivered the keynote address.“The Aggie Grey’s Hotel Group brand is one that is synonymous to Samoa and serves our country proud with the quality of products and services that it offers.”“The group represents the standard of hotel and diversified commercial ventures that continue to lead tourism development that is distinctively Samoan.”Opening the new facilities will add another excellent development to the experiential expectations of the resort guests and the golfing community, he said.Prime Minster Tuilaepa congratulated La’auli Alan, Marina and the Grey Family and expressed the wish that the Golf Club would “always win” and bring the players back for more.Managing Director, Lupesina Fred Grey told invited guests that “Le Penina Golf Course Club House will provide another option for golf enthusiasts and professionals not only to play but also to enjoy themselves after a game.”He paid tribute to Prime Minister Tuilaepa’s vision to develop Samoa.“In 2003, we sat down with the Prime Minister and we were talking about ways to develop our country. At the time, he shared with us his vision for a top-notch resort with an international golf course,” said Lupesina.“What started out as a vision soon turned into reality. In 2005, the Aggie Grey’s Spa and Resort was built. A man, whom I believe was Samoa’s first foreign investor, David Katzin played a crucial role in that.”“He not only invested in the Resort, he also invested in the Le Penina Golf Course, which was designed by PGA professional, Mike Franko. Le Penina quickly developed into a world-class international golf course, attracting some of the region’s best players.”In 2011, the Aggie Grey’s Group bought the Le Penina Course from Mr. Katzin for $3.5million.
