KVZK will retransmit Talavalu games, courtesy of PCS TV

American Samoa’s first international appearance in the Hong Kong 7s rugby tournament kicks off tonight local time with the broadcast signal being retransmitted by state run KVZK-TV, which is operated by the Office of Public Information (OPI).

Locally based PCS-TV Ch: 11 has the broadcast rights in Pago Pago for IRB games, including Hong Kong 7s in which American Samoa’s national team, Talavalu, makes its debut.

Results of today's games will be posted here on this website when they become available tonight (Thursday, March 27, American Samoa time) with additional photos on our Facebook page.

KVZK-TV announced last night during its Evening News that it has been granted permission by PCS-TV to retransmit the signal for the Hong Kong 7s, when Talavalu goes up against Hong Kong, Italy and Tunisia in Pool F.

OPI director Fagafaga Daniel Langkilde thanked PCS-TV and its owner Bill Hayman for allowing KVZK to retransmit the signal for the benefit of many local residents who do not have access to cable TV and/or pick up the PCS TV broadcast signal.

Fagafaga also thanked Lt. Gov. Lemanu Peleti Mauga, who is also the acting governor, for assisting in the negotiations with PCS-TV.

Talavalu matches being retransmitted on KVZK-TV Ch: 2 begin this evening (Thursday, American Samoa time): 8:06p.m. against Italy; 9:50p.m. against Hong Kong; and tomorrow (Friday local time) at 2:22p.m. against Tunisia.

KVZK will also retransmit the signal at 11:24p.m. today (Thursday local time) when Manu Samoa goes up against the United States.

Samoa News has a three-member team on the ground in Hong Kong to provide coverage for print, online and social media.
