KS Mart celebrates 22nd anniversary with grand re-opening
Located on the Ili’ili Road between the Golf Course and the Tafuna International Airport, KS Mart has grown from a small establishment that started off as a basic grocery store in Pava’ia’i to the mega superstore it is today, thanks to the vision of company founders and owners Ho Pyo and Aoteroa Hong who have now pretty much let their children take over and keep things running.
The couple’s son, company president Solip Hong explained Friday that next Wednesday’s grand re-opening is the first of two phases that will celebrate KS Mart’s growth and continuous efforts to serve the community. “We want to make it a promotional type of thing that could benefit the public,” Hong said.
A small ceremony is set for next Wednesday, November 19. Celebrations will begin with a brief prayer service that will be held at 6 a.m. Doors will be open to the public at 8 a.m.
In preparation for the event, KS Mart will be closed on Tuesday.
The ‘grand re-opening’ is to reveal the company’s newest extension project that will feature a new section in the back of the store that will house a new bakery, deli, and meat department. “This was all done in order to provide a more clean, enjoyable, and pleasant atmosphere for people to shop,” Hong explained.
For that day only, consumers can stretch their budget with specials that include coffee, pizza, hotdogs, cake, pies, and slushy drinks - all for only a dollar.
Fresh meats and marinated meats will also make their debut that day in the store’s selection and free samples will be available. And don’t worry, all the meats are imported straight from the United States and have all been inspected and approved by the USDA.
This is a “can’t miss” opportunity and everyone needs to mark their calendars because the first 50 customers who purchase $22 or more worth of items that day will receive a chance to enter a drawing featuring marvelous prizes that include - but not limited to - gift certificates, Thanksgiving dinner packages, cool electronic gadgets, and three round-trip tickets to Samoa.
While there, don’t forget to place your orders for Thanksgiving. Why go through the hassle of cooking and cleaning when you can relax and let the experienced staff at KS Mart get everything squared away for you?
Simply call 699-5241 or stop by their Ili’ili location to pre-order your Thanksgiving meal that includes mouth watering rotisserie turkey and all the trimmings: cranberry sauce, gravy, and stuffing.
Pre-ordering is a ‘must’ as KS Mart is known to sell out of turkey every year, usually 3-4 days before Thanksgiving. “I highly recommend everyone to pre-order because not only do we usually sell out, we need time to prepare the meals, to coincide with scheduled pick-up times so all the meals are hot and ready to eat,” Hong said.
Currently, the 50+ employees at KS Mart are busy preparing for next week’s celebration but they invite everyone to stop by and see why KS Mart has become “American Samoa’s One-Stop-Shop”.
Don’t forget that the second phase of the two-part celebration is scheduled for Friday, December 12, when KS Mart will showcase its Christmas items and other various merchandise in the reconstructed right corner of the store (where the bakery used to be).
From groceries, toys, and school supplies to housewares, kitchenware, home decor, and toiletries, KS Mart definitely lives up to its motto: “Something for Everyone”.
The store is open everyday from 6 a.m. until 10 p.m. and all inquiries can be forwarded to 699-5241.
