The Tafuna Jets are unofficial champions of the women’s 2015 FFAS 5-A-Side competition after finishing with the top record in their division.

Meanwhile, after a cancellation due to inclement weather on June 13, the playoffs have been rescheduled for Thursday, June 18 in the men’s bracket.

In the men’s U-18, a point separates Ilaoa & To’omata (23) and Lion Heart (22) for the top spot, and on Thursday the two go head-to-head to determine the division’s champion.

WOMEN’S DIVISION

The Tafuna Jets completed the season three-points clear of PanSa to clinch the title in a hotly contested second-round robin.

Tafuna coasted through the first undefeated but then lost to PanSa and Utulei Youth in a mad rush by the former to catch the Jets for first place.  However, PanSa’s wins started coming in too late as Tafuna had had a big head start with losses to give.

Utulei Youth finished in third, followed by Green Bay, Lion Heart and Ilaoa & To’omata.

MEN’S DIVISION

The top four teams are No. 1 Utulei Youth, No. 2 Vaiala Tongan, No. 3 Tafuna Jets and No. 4 Ilaoa & To’omata.

Utulei Youth will take on Ilaoa & To’omata in one semi-final while Vaiala Tongan plays against Ilaoa & To’omata in the other.  Both games kick off at 4 p.m.

The winners advance to the championship game scheduled for the same day after a 10-minute break by all teams.

The rest of the standings are No. 5 Lion Heart, No. 6 Pago Youth, No. 7 FC SKBC, No. 8 PanSa, No. 9 Vaitogi United, No. 10 Black Roses, No. 11 Green Bay and No. 12 Atu’u Broncos.

MEN’S U-18 DIVISION

Ilaoa & To’omata is a point ahead of Lion Heart 23-22 and needs either a win or a tie to clinch the title.

The differential in goals gives Ilaoa & To’omata the edge (44-22) over Lion Heart in case of a tied game.  The game kicks off at 4:30 p.m.

Vaiala Tongan in third in the standings, followed by Utulei Youth and Green Bay.
