It's a Holiday Weekend!
Love is in the air today as the territory’s residents celebrate Valentine’s Day, an annual event that includes lots of hugs, kisses, chocolates, flowers, with some extra special wining and dining.
Locally, several businesses are offering romantic dinner packages for local lovebirds: Shan J in Malaeimi, Evalani’s in Pago Pago, and the Tradewinds Hotel (Equator Restaurant) in Ottoville.
On the retail side, Bluesky Communications and ASTCA are slashing prices on cellular phones, while Origin Energy is offering deep discounts on gas appliances.
Vai’s Flowers and Gifts, as they do every year, has in stock an abundance of flowers, candies and balloons. Those who want a quick getaway can hop over to Samoa and take part in the Valentine’s Day slot tournament at the Whitesands Casino.
Valentine’s leads up to a long weekend, as the territory will join the rest of the nation in observing President’s Day, Monday, February 16—a federal holiday.
All government offices will be closed, as well as both ANZ and Bank of Hawaii, and the US Post Office.
On that day, Neils’ ACE Home Center will be hosting its 20% Bag Sale from 8 a.m. - 12 noon. For four hours only, save 20% on almost anything you can fit into your shopping bag. (See store for details).
Partygoers are reminded that law enforcement officers will be out and about monitoring the territory’s roadways, so don’t forget to buckle up. “Drive sober or get pulled over”.
Samoa News wishes everyone a Happy Valentine’s Day and a safe President’s Day weekend
