Inter Island Airways resumes flights to Manu’a

Locally based Inter Island Airways has resumed air service, beginning with the Manu’a island group, which has been without any flights for about four weeks because the airline’s lone aircraft was down for mechanical reasons.

The Dornier 19-seat aircraft has been sitting at the Faleolo International Airport in Samoa for three weeks and was ferried last weekend to Pago Pago for final maintenance repairs, with the first flight to Fitiuta Airport on Ta’u Island yesterday afternoon and it was a full flight.

The airline’s flights on the inter Samoa route are planned to resume tomorrow with flights added as the need arises.
