Hawaiian recorded high passenger count in 2013

Honolulu-based Hawaiian Airlines announced early this week that its system-wide traffic statistics for the full year, fourth quarter and the month of December 2013, reached more than nine million.

The airline says that it set a “new record” in the carrier’s 84-year history with 9,935,743 passengers transported in 2013, which is 4.8 percent higher than the previous year, when the carrier transported 9,484,204 passengers.

Meanwhile, Hawaiian ended this past Sunday the third weekly flight between Honolulu and Pago Pago for the holiday season. The airline currently operates two weekly flights to the territory, on Mondays and Fridays.
