Fuataga mourned

The paramount chief of Lalomanu, Fuataga Kasimani Lautusi, has passed away in New Zealand. The death of a leader who is addressed in Samoan with much reverence as the “Tui Atua fa’anofonofo” is the source of sadness for members of his family, village, church, friends and people who knew him well.

Fuataga Kasimani died at Napa Hospital in New Zealand, on Wednesday. He was 55.  Police Commissioner and cousin, Lilomaiava Fou Taioalo says Fuataga died from a heart condition. The paramount chief had an operation last month and the Police Commissioner says he had shown some “positive signs.”
