Team Amerika Samoa preparing for the 18U Oceania Baseball Championship scheduled for Jan. 23- 27, 2019 in Guam along with their supporters celebrated the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord on Sunday at the St. Joseph the Worker Co-Cathedral in Fagatogo. Other countries/territories represented at the Oceania tournament are Australia, Guam, New Zealand, Palau, and CNMI. Team Amerika Samoa is composed of 10 locals and 10 from off-island. US Army Sgt. Fa’aati Lehualani Uluenga-Gillis (left) of American Samoa was sworn-in Friday, Jan. 11th at Fort Rucker, Alabama to three more years of active duty service. She will be transferring to her new duty station in South Korea later this year in May. Uluenga-Gillis is the daughter of the late, Leo Inoke Uluenga and Leua Aiono Frost, a Samoa News reporter.
