FC SKBC one game away from FFAS National League title

FC SKBC is one game away from winning the Division 1 championship of the 2013 FFAS National League title after beating the competition’s former No. 1, Taputimu Youth, 3-1 on Wednesday, Sept. 25.It was their first defense of the Division 1 FFAS National Cup after taking it away from the Tafuna Jets, 2-1, on September 21. In the other game played on Sept. 25, the Jets beat Pago Youth B 6-1.On Sept. 24 Pago A won against Utulei Youth 5-1 while Lion Heart beat Black Roses 3-1.SKBC’s win and Taputimu Youth’s loss have created a huge shift in positioning amongst the top four with defending champions, Pago Youth A and the Tafuna Jets moving up one spot each, to No. 2 and No. 3, respectively.Taputimu Youth falls down from No. 1 to No. 4. Pago A, the Jets and Taputimu are tied with 13 points each on similar records of 4-1-1.With one more round to be played on Sept. 28 in the 2013 FFAS National League season for the top flight division, FC SKBC needs to beat Pago Youth B to clinch the championship.The schedule for Sept. 28 is Pago A vs. Black Roses (Field 1) and Utulei Youth vs. Lion Heart (Field 2) at 9:05 a.m. while at 11:00 a.m. its SKBC vs. Pago B (Field 1, Cup match) and Tafuna Jets vs. Taputimu Youth (Field 2).In a scenario where Pago B forces a draw against SKBC and Pago A beats Black Roses, there will be a three-way tie for first place along with the winner of the Jets-Taputimu match.The tiebreaker, differential in goals, will favor the defending champs, Pago Youth A, due to a vastly superior number — 22 — while SKBC has 7, the Jets 8 and Taputimu with 6. Pago A would then be crowned champions for a 4th year in a row.
