Eight students in Samoa charged for fighting

Once again, the ugly spectacle of secondary students fighting in public has occurred despite the best efforts and intervention by past and present principals. Eight students from Leifi’ifi and Avele College have been charged with fighting in public places, and are scheduled to appear in court on the 23rd of this month.Police spokesperson, Su’a Muliaga Tiumalu said the students who are being charged were involved in a fight between the two colleges last week on Monday and Tuesday.“During this time, the investigation is still continuing to see if there are any other students involved and to find out what caused the dispute between the two colleges,” he said.“We have already investigated both of these colleges and five students from Leifi’ifi and three from Avele were in custody.“They are out on bail now on the condition that they have to sign in at the police station every Friday until the 23rd.”
