Divers inspect and clean up underwater at StarKist

One of the most dangerous jobs on island, saw highly skilled and certified diving crew members from Seattle Washington arrive in the territory - it's a StarKist Samoa project. It requires diving to 185 feet underwater, to inspect, manage, and clean up the cannery's underwater foundation - those docks don't float and neither do the buildings. The divers are (left to right) Dave Clearly, Carl Toms, Brent McDaniel, Marty Edwards, and pictured are also Captain Kurt Hagedorn who managed their boat, and security Hyman Vaimaona. According to Clearly, this is their seventh trip to American Samoa to conduct this project, and they have been on island for 9 days. The crew will be leaving next week.
