Delegation talking to Hawaii bankers about AmSam

Once Bank of Hawaii closes its two branches in American Samoa during the first quarter of 2013, as it has previously announced it will do, ANZ Bank of Australia will be the only bank in the territory.But the Honolulu Star-Advertiser is reporting that a delegation led by Afimutasi Gus Hannemann, a brother of former Honolulu Mayor Mufi Hannemann, is talking with other Hawaii banks in hopes of getting someone to establish a presence in American Samoa.So far, they have met with Central Pacific Bank, and a meeting is scheduled in January with Bob Harrison, president and CEO of First Hawaiian Bank.
