NATIONAL PARK ASKS PUBLIC HELP TO MIND PARK AREAS’ REGULATIONS

PAGO PAGO, American Samoa —The National Park of American Samoa asks for the public’s help to keep all park areas free of trash and debris. In particular, the park villages’ chiefs have requested that the public adhere to park regulations that prohibit loitering and alcohol consumption at Fagasa Pass and the Lower Sauma Ridge fale and trailhead near Vatia.

Visitors are asked to respect others so that all can enjoy their national park experience. Everyone’s consideration and cooperation is greatly appreciated.

The National Park of American Samoa preserves and protects coral reefs, tropical rain forests, fruit bats, the Samoan culture, and provides for the enjoyment of these for this and future generations.

FAGALOA YOUTH FROM SAMOA FUNDRAISING IN TERRITORY

The youth group representing the Congregational Christian Church of Samoa (EFKS) from Sauano Fagaloa, Samoa are currently in the territory to carry out fundraising activities to assist with costs of building a new church.

The group, led by Rev. Ieti and Mrs. Ula Tofaeono, arrived in the territory last Thursday, December 4 and will depart for Samoa later this week.

The day after the group landed in the territory, they went straight to work, performing for the cannery workers at StarKist (most of whom are from Samoa) on Friday morning, before putting on a great show at the Fagatogo Marketplace  that same evening for “First Friday” International Night.

Last night, the Fagaloa group took their show on the road to Pava’ia’i. Tonight, they will be performing at Petesa Tai.

As a finale, the group will put on a special farewell performance on Wednesday evening at the CCCAS Laulii church hall.

The group is being hosted by Laulii village.
