HAWAIIAN AIR FLIGHT DELAYED DUE TO MECHANICAL PROBLEM

Hawaiian Airlines’ flight from Honolulu on Sunday night didn’t arrive in Pago Pago until after 2 a.m. yesterday morning and information provided to passengers in the territory said the flight encountered a “mechanical problem” which resulted in the delay.

Meanwhile, Hawaiian’s third weekly flight during the summer months commences tonight and will continue through Aug. 21 to “accommodate increased travel demand”  between Honolulu and Pago Pago.  Flight times are the same as the current twice weekly flights - arriving in Pago Pago at night and then departing about 90 minutes later.

Hawaiian has also launched daily flights between Honolulu International Airport and JFK International Airport in New York City, providing the only direct flight between Hawaii and New York.
