Christmas giving comes early for Hope House

Christmas came early for residents and staff at Hope House, when Rotary Club of Pago Pago arrived over the weekend with medical gifts, including two gurneys that will help with the care of elderly and children with severe physical disabilities. The two unique gurneys can double as shower beds.

Rotary president Dennis Wellborn (right) and members of the Rotary Club assemble the donated gurneys that along with other items bring Saturday’s donation to $3,000.

During the presentation, Hope House board chairman David Robinson accepted the gifts on behalf of Bishop Peter Brown, Hope House board of directors and staff.  First Lady Cynthia Moliga also took part in the ceremony and visited with patients and staff members.

This time of year Hope House is on the receiving end of a variety of donations and contributions from the community as the territory heads into the holiday season.
