Department heads and deans for the American Samoa Community College gathered at the Tradewinds Hotel in Ottoville earlier this week for a retreat to discuss the five-year institutional plan set to be implemented at the ASCC from 2015-2020.

The retreat, a first for the college, allowed the leadership team to work through and discuss issues and concerns pertaining to activities and other plans for the ASCC.

The group hopes to make the retreat an annual event.

In other news from the college, admissions applications for the fall semester must be submitted by August 12 and placement tests will be offered - for a $10 fee - on Monday and Tuesday, Aug. 4-5.

New student orientation will be held on Aug. 8 at 9 a.m. and registration will take place from Aug. 13-15.

Instruction will begin on August 18.
