The people of American Samoa have been given some breathing space after the Bank of Hawaii agreed to keep one of its two branches open in the US territory for another year.During that time a new banking system will have to be established for the US territory, but the question is what sort of a system will it be? There are already moves to create a community bank, and the government in Pago Pago has also been in talks with representatives from Zion bank in the American state of Utah.
