ANZ Guam Inc., chief executive officer John Wade will be on island next week and is scheduled to testify in committee hearings by both the Senate and House on public complaints about ANZ Amerika Samoa Bank’s poor service and new fees, where business customers are being charged for depositing cash, as well as for withdrawing cash from their own accounts.

Wade will arrive Monday night from Guam for his regularly scheduled visit to American Samoa and just in time for the Fono hearings. 

He will first appear Tuesday morning for the House Commerce and Economic Development Committee hearing, chaired by Rep. Larry Sanitoa.

The Senate Government Operations Committee had also scheduled its ANZ hearing next Tuesday morning but committee chairman Sen. Galeai Tu’ufuli told senators at yesterday’s Senate session that the hearing is now set for next week Thursday.

He said a top official of ANZ is scheduled to arrive Monday night from Guam and will be present at the hearing. Galeai said it’s important that this top official will be on island to hear directly from senators “our concerns” of the ANZ services and fees.
