Cool Stuff Qwik Hit: Samoan music's future?

Checking out The Magic Flute, a San Rafael, California music store I saw a bizarre ukulele with heavy thick strings, called a U-Bass.  Available in both acoustic and dedicated electric, the U-Bass is a E-A-D-G stringed true bass in compact form, starting with a price of approximately $499.
