Miss Samoa to campaign for gender equality

The newly crowned Miss Samoa, Janine Nicky Tuivaiti,, says she will focus on promoting gender equality and protection of the environment during her reign.

Ms Tuivaiti, who’s an actress and has been on the New Zealand soap, Shortland Street, was crowned Miss Samoa during the Teuila annual pageant.

She told Talamua online she would try to the best of her abilities to make an impact by promoting gender equality in the work environment and make a change for women.

She will represent Samoa at the Miss South Pacific pageant in American Samoa in December.
