Parade opens Teuila 2012
The rain failed to dampen the spirits of hundreds of people who took part in the opening of the Teuila Festival on Monday.
The Festival was opened by Prime Minister Tuilaepa Sa’ilele Malielegaoi, who is also the Minister of Tourism, at the end of a parade on Beach Road. The stars of the parade were the Miss Samoa contestants.
The parade kicked off the first day of activities, which included traditional games, entertainment, cricket and more.
This year’s festival showcases numerous cultural activities such as choral exhibitions and traditional entertainment such as the Siva Afi (fire knife dancing).
