Samoa students plead not guilty
Four of five students charged in relation to the school brawl at the Savalalo Market two weeks ago have denied the charges against them.
Christopher Tamaseulagi, 17 of Vaiusu, Henry Grey, 17 of Vailoa, Kasiano Pesamino, 17 of Vaiusu and Laki Suaesi Letoa, 19 of Vaie’e entered a not guilty plea in the District Court on Tuesday.
The matter was heard before Judge Vaepule Vaemoa Va’ai.
The students are jointly charged with fighting in a public place. Tamaseulagi is also charged with the assault against Tulimatala Nu’usolia. This happened on 31 July 2012 at Vaiusu.
Judge Vepule adjourned the matter for a full hearing on 21 January 2013.
The fifth student alleged to have been involved in the incident, Nicky Tolumaanai Misiluki Su’a did not appear.
His father Misiluki Su’a was there to excuse his son. Judge Vaepule told Nicky’s father to inform his son to appear again in court next week on 28 August.
