Baby girl drowns in Samoa
Water safety around the home is in the spotlight again after the tragic death of a young baby girl.
The twenty-one month old baby girl drowned at her Vaovai, Falealili home, in a bucket of water.
Her mother was preparing a family meal at the time.
An 11 year old cousin found her upside down in the bucket after she was left alone for just a minute, according to police.
She pulled the baby out only to find her already dead.
Acting Commissioner, Fauono Talelei Tapu announced the death yesterday but was unable to confirm the day and time of the incident.
