Sili, Samoa boy still in custody charged with 'insulting words' against PM

The Police will not withdraw the charge against the Sili youth who made serious allegations against Prime Minister Tuilaepa Sa’ilele Malielegaoi in a video clip.

Acting Police Commissioner, Misa Tala’imanu Keti said the youth, who is still in Police custody, has been charged with insulting words.

“The charges will be reviewed on Monday,” said Misa.

In the meantime, the boy is “being remanded in custody.”

The youth’s mention date in court will also be decided then.

“I have met with the Prime Minister but we have to go through with the Court process,” said Misa.

“What the Prime Minister has told us about what has been done to the youth in his village as a result will also be mentioned in court.”

The Ali’i ma Faipule of Sili have presented Tuilaepa with a traditional apology.
