Art & Tide Calendar winners selected

L-R are Sandra Lutu (ASCMP Manager), Mark Ashley Faulkner (Louisa’s father), Louisa, and Lama Haretuku of Hawaiian Airlines. Louisa received many gifts for her efforts, including school supplies.

The overall winner in this year’s American Samoa Department of Commerce/American Samoa Coastal Management Program (ASCMP) Art & Tide Calendar Contest is Louisa Faulkner of South Pacific Academy.
This year, the DOC calendar will be "poster" style, unlike in previous years, which had a separate page and picture for each month. Louisa’s art work will appear on the top right hand side of the calendar/poster.
The second place overall winner was Nina Bianca Lucero Vergara of Pacific Horizon School, and her art will appear on the top left hand side of the calendar.
The other 12 winners whose works were chosen for the DOC calendar are: Tuahine Rapoza (South Pacific Academy), Leauma Toala (Coleman Elementary), Ava Pendleton (Pacific Horizon), Jackie Vasaeafe Tanielu (Coleman Elementary), Anaya Kapesi (Coleman Elementary), Yeon Hee Lee (South Pacific Academy), Joffrey Maalona (Coleman Elementary), Katie Godinet (Coleman Elementary), Anastatia Tue (South Pacific Academy), Seol Hee Lee (South Pacific Academy), Chrissha V. The awards were presented yesterday at the DOC Conference Room located at the Fagatogo Market Place.
