Murder charge rocks Samoa's Little Sisters of the Poor
The Samoa branch of the Little Sisters of the Poor yesterday declined to comment on an incident where a Samoan woman who had just arrived in the United States to study to become a nun has been charged for killing her newborn son.
Sister Alosia, of the Home of the Aged at Mapuifagalele, told the Weekend Observer she was aware of the situation.
“All I can say is that she is not a nun,” said Sr. Alosia.
Asked to elaborate and to confirm whether the woman worked at Mapuifagalele, she declined referring all questions to the United States.
