National Park and Ocean Center reopened
Pago Pago,, AS — With the partial federal shutdown lifted, the National Park of American Samoa (NPAS) and the Tauese P.F. Sunia Ocean Center have since reopened to the public.
NPAS facilities includes the National Park Visitor’s Center in Pago Pago and park superintendent Jim Bacon said they “appreciate the public’s and our employee’s patience and understanding during this difficult time.”
“We are extremely pleased to once again be able to welcome everyone to enjoy their national park,” he said
All park programs and special events have resumed, including school programs and field trips. Teachers are encouraged to contact the national park for program scheduling.
Officials say the Ocean Center is also re-opened to the public and everyone is invited to take time out to visit.
