Happy White Sunday, Samoa!
Put Jesus first in your life and live as He would everyday.
That’s the message from the Chairman of the National Council of Churches, Deacon Kasiano Leaupepe to all the children of Samoa this White Sunday.
Deacon Leaupepe also reminded parents of their calling – to look after and love their children.
While the young generation may experience problems from time to time, he says this darkness would always be overcome by the light of Jesus Christ that shines through families.
“An example is the relationship between mothers and their daughters,” he says. “It is one that is no longer as strong as it was in years past.
“Mothers, you are the only ones who can see the real truth behind your children. If you can’t do something about it, the Lord will guide you.”
“If the wounds you nurse are too great to bear seek out the servants of our Lord, his most trusted ones to whom you can pour your heart out to
and they will work with you towards a solution to your problems.”
He says one of the challenges today’s society faces is a lack of forgiveness, with many young people not being given the opportunity to
forget the past and move on.
“Don’t use what somebody did or didn’t do as an excuse to live a sour life, forgive them and move forward,” he says.
“God is an all forgiving God and nothing you do surprises Him. If things in your life do not work out like you want them to, do not worry – God has a plan for you.”
Deacon Le’aupepe told the Sunday Samoan young people should stop replaying the negative thoughts that only serve as a constant reminder
of their failures in life, which lead to poor decisions.
