Samoa clinches Oceania Sevens as American Samoa qualifies
APIA — Manu Samoa Sevens is heading to the Gold Coast as it sets up for the first leg of the IRB Sevens circuit this week.
The Punivalu coached side defeated Australia in the FORU Sevens in Fiji in the weekend giving it the perfect tune up for the new coaching and management staff and the newlook teams IRB Sevens campaign.
Meanwhile, its a notch up for one of IRBs smallest and newest member Unions. American Samoa has qualified and earned a berth at the Hong Kong Sevens and next year’s Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. American Samoa emerged ahead of Tuvalu, Cook Islands, Solomon Islands and Papua New Guinea in the weekend at the Oceania Sevens in Fiji.
