Gov says territorial Labor Day celebration will be an annual event
Governor Lolo Matalasi Moliga is making Labor Day celebrations a permanent fixture for his administration. This was announced in a letter he forwarded to all department and agency directors following the recent Labor Day festivities.
Lolo expressed his profound gratitude and deepest appreciation to government employees and directors for demonstrating great leadership that contributed to the “awesome success of our first Labor Day activity.”
He continued, “I was truly overwhelmed and deeply touched by the expression of enthusiasm and to an extent, an acknowledgment and sense of appreciation on the part of all our employees, of our commitment to them."
The Governor wrote, "I was proud that all agencies demonstrated great pride in their respective agencies, given their willingness to purchase uniforms to show solidarity.”
He noted that the success witnessed during the Labor Day celebration does not happen by chance, but it is a reflection of meticulous planning and ingenuity of those charged with the task of orchestrating an event of such magnitude.
Governor Lolo commended the organizing committee saying, “While you might not feel the depth of my gratefulness and the sincerity of my appreciation, I know that each and every one of you — beginning with Chairman HTC Le’i Sonny Thompson and all the members of the organizing committee — experienced a deep sense of personal satisfaction, seeing firsthand the fruits of your labor through the outpouring of laudatory comments and remarks from the participants. Again, I witnessed the power of collaboration among the leaders to achieve a common purpose.”
The governor said he is repeatedly reassured by the wisdom of the decision to recruit his directors' leadership skills to advance the collective vision to serve the people of American Samoa the best way his administration can.
