Yesterday, Samoa News received a call about its front page story titled “Former Treasurer given $50,000 from W. District fund” clarifying that the former ASG treasurer's mother does not live in Puna Valley, as reported — however his sisters and other family members do.
Also, in the same story, Samoa News failed to point out that it appears the signatures on the note signed by the former treasurer Magalei Logovi’i and the approval on the note signed by former Gov. Togiola Tulafono are identical to the two signatures on the Bank of Hawai'i check made out for $50,000 to Magalei. Samoa News apologizes for the omission.
