Local soldier killed over weekend in Afghanistan
American Samoa native and graduate of Samoana High School class of 2007, Army First Lt. Jason Togi was killed in the Afghanistan conflict over the weekend.
His father, Alepapa Togi told Samoa News that the only details the family in the territory has received is that his son and unit were out on a mission Sunday (American Samoa time), when an incident happened that killed his 24-year old son.
Alepapa and his wife Angela depart Pago Pago tonight for the mainland. Funeral services are pending. Samoa News extend condolences to the grieving family.
