In the latest news with Team American Samoa in the 2012 Olympic Games in London, England, Men’s 100 meter sprinter Elama Fa’atonu failed to get past the preliminary round yesterday as his time of 11.72 was not good enough for him to advance to round one of the 100 meters. He came in 8th in his heat and finished 30th in the field of 33. No other athletes on Team American Samoa competed yesterday. Next up for Team American Samoa in Nathaniel Tuamoheloa, who will be competing in the Men’s 96kg Freestyle Wrestling on August 12.

Team Samoa’s Athletics/Track and Field Men’s shot put thrower Emanuele Fuamatu had a throw 17.78 meters, which was not far enough for advancement as he was out of the competition yesterday.
