Cruise ship tomorrow amid beautiful decorations island-wide

Four days after the 2013 Flag Day which prompted the island-wide beautiful decorations, the second cruise ship for April sails into the territory tomorrow morning with more than 2,000 visitors, hiking our population for one-day.

The Holland America Line ‘Oosterdam’ is making its maiden voyage to the Port of Pago Pago at 8a.m. tomorrow from Apia, Samoa and departing around 5p.m. for Kauai island, Hawai’i. Local officials are expected to make a special presentation to the captain of the cruise ship for their first visit here with hopes that American Samoa will be included in future sailing schedules.

Carrying up to 1916 passengers and 817 crew, the Oosterdam is on a 22-night cruise from Sydney, Australia to Honolulu, Hawaii.

Our visitors are arriving four-days after Flag Day, and will see a Tutuila that is decorated beautifully. At the entrance to the port are pots with flowers.
