China praises Samoa's economic progress
APIA, TUESDAY 12 MARCH 2013: China’s Vice Minister of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China has praised the progress of economic development and efforts by the Samoan Government to help its people.
Mr. Liu Jieyi is on a goodwill visit to Samoa and met with the Prime Minister Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi yesterday as well as the Speaker of Parliament La’auli Polata’ivao Fosi and the Leader of the Opposition Palusalue Fa’apo 11.
Mr. Liu’s Department has been the organizer and host of Study Tours of China by the Pacific Islands politicians in the last two years in an effort to strengthen the relations and a deeper understanding of China.
The Vice Minister is accompanied by Mr. Ma Hui, the Director General of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) who overseas Pacific Islands affairs.
