PHOTOS: ROTARY HAS BUSY MONTH WITH PROJECTS AT DOE & FATU O AIGA
President Jackie Young and other members of the Rotary Club of Pago Pago teamed up with D.O.E. Director Dr. Salu Hunkin-Finau in presenting a free dictionary to all 3rd grade students attending Department of Education Elementary Schools.
Dr. Hunkin-Finau thanked the Rotary Club of Pago Pago for this generous gift to the 3rd grade students and encouraged the students to use their new dictionaries for school work.
The project is sponsored by Rotary Clubs all over the world to help young students to excel in their studies and the dictionaries belong to the student and not the school. The student is allowed to take the dictionary home and to use in the classroom.
All the 3rd grade teachers said that this dictionary will be used in their classroom instruction and now the students do not have to share the one or two dictionaries in the classroom.
Tafuna Elementary students show off their new dictionaries from the Rotary Club of Pago Pago and they all shouted "Thank you Rotary Club!"
Recent Rotary Club projects include donating two new washing machines to Hope House (see photo below) and wall fans for the daycare center lunch and activity room.
And Rotary Club of Pago Pago president Jackie Young visited the Montessori School Playground set that was donated by the Rotary Club of Pago Pago. ICI helped Rotary Club with the shipping of the playground to American Samoa. David Robinson and his crew installed the playground and the principal of the school thanked the Rotary Club of Pago Pago for this generous gift for their children. Photo below.
