“UNFAIR TREATMENT OF NHD PARTICIPANTS”

ShareThis

Dear Editor,

I am very disappointed and irritated with the disqualification of an Elementary History Day Participant this past Monday over their process papers. These people don’t even know how hard these kids had worked on their project and they were very excited with it.

Yet on Monday, my sister who is in 8th grade, told me the sad news that their group got disqualified to compete in the History Day Competition. It breaks my heart that these people ruined the excitement for my sister. Perhaps they can deduct points for what’s missing in the process paper and let the students compete?___

I heard all the judges of the competition made the call for the disqualification, which was, so last minute and unexpected during the week of the competition. If only they had seen the look on my sister’s face when she heard the bad news, it was heart breaking and very sad. How can they do such thing at the very last minute? It’s so pathetic and unfair!

My sister and her group had worked so hard researching and practicing for the big day to showcase their project but now, that’s not going to happen. Whoever is in charge with the History Day Competition, why are the judges in charge of the competition but not you guys?

Think of all the students you have let down.

Sincerely,
Miracle Denise Sene
