Companies can now register online in Samoa

ShareThis

A new online companies registry has been launched by the Ministry of Commerce in Samoa.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce, Industry & Labour, Fonotoe Nuafesili Pierre Lauofo says the registry will save time and means people in remote areas can register their companies without having to travel to do so.

The paperless registration process, funded by the Asian Development Bank, will allow business owners to register a company and update company details from anywhere with an internet connection.

The ADB says the new Companies Registry will make it easier for local people to conduct business in Samoa as well as help reduce the cost of doing business, encourage transparency, fair trading and consumer protection.

THE NEW COMMENTS PROCESS

To make comments, you will need to register. You can register under your real name or use a 'screen' name. This way, people will be able to follow comments and make comments back and forth to each other. If you choose to use a 'screen name' no one will know your true identity. In either case, no email addresses will be available to anyone. It is an automated process. If you have questions, email: webmaster@samoanews.com
