AUCKLAND’S BIGGEST CULTURAL EVENT, CELEBRATING 21 YEARS, PASIFIKA FESTIVAL
Island hop ‘till you drop at this year’s Pasifika Festival March 9-10 at Western Springs Auckland. Enjoy the music, food, cultural showcase markets and villages.
Pasifika Festival unites 10 different Pacific Island nations within one great event, while the separate villages allow each country to celebrate their unique cultures and traditions — Aotearoa, Cook Islands, Fiji, Kiribati, Niue, Tahiti, Tokelau, Tonga, Tuvalu and of course Samoa.
There are more Samoans in Auckland than all other brothers and sisters from across the Pacific, and there are many talents in all fields of arts, music, songs, performances in traditional and contemporary form.
At the Samoa village you can join a traditional carving workshop, watch the inaugural Samoa Voices Choir competition or be dazzled by dance displays.
